Description

Responsibilities:

* Technical engineering for underground electrical transmission and distribution projects. Manages engineering design-related aspects of a multi-discipline project or multiple small to medium projects, including engineering schedule and budget performance, quality of engineering solutions and deliverables, coordination or design, site plan approval through permitting, specifications, procurement, and construction.

* Applies Underground Electric Design and Construction Standards.

* Oversees and participates in the collection, assimilation, and management of data for electrical underground systems engineering work. Including reviewing and incorporating client specific design standards to projects.

* Coordinates all technical aspects of electrical underground system projects and makes project engineering execution decisions within the bounds set by applicable policies, standards, guides and contract commitments.

* Design/oversee design of electrical underground system projects in accordance with local, state, & federal standards.

* Develop or lead team to develop drawing packages utilizing AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for all aspects of electrical underground engineering projects.

* Leads and works closely with designers, engineers, and project managers to coordinate electrical underground design with other disciplines, both within the firm and partnering consultants, to meet project deliverables.

* Attends and frequently leads internal and external client meetings, communications, conference calls and client site visits.

* Review local requirements to develop electrical underground systems and meet special requirements.

* Assist in obtaining permits through federal, state, county, & local Authorities Having Jurisdiction for electrical underground project work.

* Assist in review of RFI's, contractor submittals, and shop drawings.

* Assist with writing proposals and RFP's.

* Assists in preparing project estimates for electrical underground system design.

* Support Business Development by providing technical information for sales proposals, or by pursuing other related activities as assigned by directors.

* Ensures compliance with company quality program through individual and team related tasks or deliverables.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent ABET accredited degree.

* Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred.

* 4 or more years of experience as an engineer.

* Experience in Under Ground Electrical systems.

* Occasional flexibility in work hours to meet project deadlines required.

* Construction experience is a plus.

* Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

* Able to interface and perform in a team-based environment, and individually.

* Ability to travel to meetings and client sites throughout the United States.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

* Ability to work in the United States
