POSITION SUMMARY: Performs work involved in the proper, safe and efficient loading of lime into railcars, truck tankers, and dump truck while working under the supervision of the production supervisor on the specific type of lime to be loaded.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Must comply with any and all company, state, and governmental health, safety and environmental regulations, policies and procedures at all times.
  • Must weigh all lime carrying trucks coming in or leaving the plant.
  • Must furnish bill of lading to driver, listing information such as; type of lime, amount of lime, and stamp official weight utilizing computer programs
  • Must obtain a composite sample of each loaded car for analysis by the lab.
  • Must keep scale house, scales, platforms, walkways and area under bins clean; using shovels, brooms, wheelbarrows, or whatever cleaning item is necessary to complete the assignment.
  • Must clean out and load rail cars.
  • Must measure lime bins to determine amount of lime in each bin.
  • Must check out hopper car for proper mechanical loading operation.
  • Must clean off top of hopper car when finished loading.
  • Must complete loading tickets on rail cars, which are turned into supervision at the end of shift.
  • Must seal rail cars with seals.
  • Must be trained to load SRP (Chat) and hoist coal with the loader. Provide BOL to Chat drivers and deliver copies to Customer Service.
  • Must perform clean up in yard and plant as assigned.
  • Must report any potential operational or safety problem to supervisor.
  • Must perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Must follow BL procedures related with loading trucks and cars.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Safe Quality Food (SQF)

  • Ensure a SQF workplace and in regulatory compliance with Federal FDA - Food Modernization Safety Act (CFR Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, , Part 507)
  • Support Environmental Health and Safety, as well as SQF initiatives and awareness programs.
  • Be a leader and promoter of employee safety and SQF culture.
  • Ensure employees have a clear understanding of expected safety and SQF performance and the required training.
  • Ensure proper training programs are implemented for new employees and continued for existing employees.
  • Actively participate in audits for regulatory, safety, SQF and environmental compliance at the site.

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Must possess the basic reading and math skills.
  • Must be able to multi task with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs.
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions. from management and co-workers
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess good computer skills with MS Office products and SAP.
  • Strong record of attendance reliability.
  • Must know, understand and observe all department and plant safety rules and maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

* Must be physically able to perform work assigned.

* Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.

* Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 150 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.

* Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a lime/mineral environment.

* The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Lime/Mineral Particles.

* The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.

* Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Technical training or AA degree in technical related field is desired.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • None required

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years. Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is preferred. Previous heavy equipment experience is desired.
