The NV5 Saint Paul, MN office is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with at least ten 10 years of engineering experience to join our Electrical Building Systems group serving Industrial, Higher Education, Government, and Commercial markets.

Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

    Development of construction documents, project specifications, studies, and reports.
  • Prepare electrical design calculations for power distribution, lighting, and equipment sizing.
  • Prepare computer based electrical system models and analysis.
  • Prepare design drawings and/or provide mark ups to drafting team or other project resources.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Perform construction administration tasks.
  • Research and analyze technical data, installation and operations manuals for products and equipment.
  • Perform MEP, architectural, structural, and civil coordination.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with clients, and NV5 employees.
  • Provide technical guidance, direction, and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Support proposal opportunities that are strategically aligned with market sector and regional targets.
  • Implement the QAQC process and perform reviews (peer, interdisciplinary, and intradisciplinary)
Qualifications
  • Bachelors (BS) in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Experience in electrical design and engineering in target markets (Industrial, Higher Education, Government, and Commercial) with the ability to:
    • Prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and within time constraints.
    • Coordinate with controls and equipment vendors to generate instrumentation and controls field installation drawings and wiring schematics.
    • Understand, create, and modify elementary diagrams and wiring schematics.
    • Perform short circuit analysis and arc flash studies using SKM.
    • Demonstrate strong understanding of applicable engineering codes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, clients, and vendors.
  • Must be able to travel to worksites as needed or required.

Certifications/Licenses

  • PE required.
  • NCEES registration preferred.

The pay range for this Washington position is $136,000- $148,000 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. NV5 offers 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time hourly employees along with 8 paid holidays a year and Flexible Time Off plan for full-time salary employees along with 6 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
